CIVICS LITERACY LABS

MADVoters’ Civics Literacy Labs are in-person, interactive workshops presented to advocacy groups, social organizations, and communities around Indiana. The purpose is to provide Hoosiers with important, nonpartisan information about the civic process so that they can better advocate for themselves and their communities. Education is Activism!

Each MADVoters Civics Lab will teach you about:

  • Voter eligibility, voter registration, and voter ID laws.

  • Upcoming election information, including important dates, and the races on the ballot.

  • Your elected officials, and understanding their role.

  • The legislative process and important bills.

  • Overview of key issues.

  • Taking action in your community.

Civics Literacy Labs presentations are scheduled to run 2 hours. Your hosting venue should have ample seating, with access to tables and A/V equipment preferred. Hosts will manage program advertising, facility fees, and facility reservation. MADVoters will provide the presentation materials and an on-site team member to facilitate the program. MADVoters’ Civics Literacy Labs are free, but donations are accepted.
