Ideally, US Congress would restore ACA subsidies, but if they don't, the state of Indiana will have to find a way to either subsidize premiums or create a public option. Because the BBB funding cut is an emergency for Hoosiers, the state will have to step in to help fund premiums while working out the logistics of creating and launching a public option (by expanding medicaid) in 2027 or 2028.

All data center negotiations must be paused for one year while a new Indiana legislature creates standards around them, at a minimum. No data centers will be allowed to be placed where local citizens do not want them. I would suggest a local referendum to officially measure voter sentiment.
Education: Describe your stance on the Department of Education and its role in education administration, funding, and protections for students with disabilities.
Education: Since 2012, Indiana has spent over $5.5 billion in taxpayer dollars on charter schools and the private school voucher program. If elected, would you support or oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to funding private schools and charter schools? Why or why not? (Source: ICPE)
I would support vouchers in very limited cases. Income caps on households using vouchers would have to return and be lowered, and schools that accept vouchers would be required to comply with the same standards as all other Indiana public schools and charter schools. No exceptions.
Democracy: In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge or threat facing our democracy right now? If elected, what will you do to help overcome this challenge or threat?
It's difficult to choose one challenge or threat when our constitutional rights are trampled daily with naked corruption at the same time. Again, to act in the emergency we find ourselves in, ICE must be unmasked and must operate in marked vehicles and follow all of the laws and rules of all law enforcement. If someone has a deportation order, then they must be deported, not disappeared in a for-profit hellhole. Ice agents operating in Indiana must be prosecuted for breaking the laws of Indiana and the United States. Our AG should be punished for censoring teachers and doxing them. Our public schools must allow free speech again without the constant threat of our AG and his minions. Corrupt Indiana politicians must be investigated by a special prosecutor and held accountable for their actions.
Community: Describe your stance on ICE and its role in immigration enforcement and detention.
Community: What role or responsibility do local and state governments have with regards to immigration enforcement?
For many years, local jails have had a 48-hour ICE hold. Every arrest is reported to the Federal Government and they have 48 hours to pick up anyone that has a criminal immigration violation. That should be the standard. The US Constitution prohibits holding people (not just citizens) for an unreasonable amount of time with no opportunity to see a judge. Helping professions should NOT be required to cooperate with ICE. Schools, hospitals, and houses of worship are not appropriate places to confront immigration matters. The 2026 law requiring helping professions to cooperate must be repealed immediately.
