As a State Rep, I would first hold the US representative and US senators from my state accountable, who should on behalf of the citizens of Indiana rather than working for the corrupt political elites in Washington. I would then make it clear to the citizens in Indiana the impact of these federal decisions on the quality of our lives here at home. Third, I would work with fellow state reps and senators, and the governor to see how we could make the best of a horrible situation.
Economics: AI and data centers are having a huge impact on jobs and communities across the nation, particularly in Indiana. What is Congress’s role in addressing this developing technology? What action will you take to hear and represent the concerns of Hoosiers on this topic?
Economics: Dozens of AI data centers are planning to come to Indiana, drawn by the state’s “business-friendly” reputation. How should Indiana manage these large industrial site proposals and their potential impact on communities? (Source: Citizens Action Coalition)
I would put a freeze on issuing any other permits to allow any other data centers to enter the state. I would do a top down review of all data center projects currently underway. The review would be first an environmental impact review, an actual review of the economic benefits to the citizens of this state with a particular emphasis on the actual number of jobs created that citizens in this state could actually benefit from.
Education: Describe your stance on the Department of Education and its role in education administration, funding, and protections for students with disabilities.
Education: Since 2012, Indiana has spent over $5.5 billion in taxpayer dollars on charter schools and the private school voucher program. If elected, would you support or oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to funding private schools and charter schools? Why or why not? (Source: ICPE)
I would first put an immediate freeze on any further distribution of taxpayer dollars. I find it constitutionally irresponsible to issue taxpayer dollars to non-state agencies. I believe that we have a constitutional obligation to first fully fund our community school districts. Second, I would do a complete top down review of every entity receiving these funds, and I would at minimum expect they would meet or exceed the same standards of our community schools. If they failed to do so then they would lose this funding.
Democracy: In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge or threat facing our democracy right now? If elected, what will you do to help overcome this challenge or threat?
The biggest challenge facing our democracy right now is that we have people in elected and appointed positions who are corrupt. They are putting advantaging themselves personally and their family and friends personally over service to the citizens. We need a complete and extensive review of these activities, we need to hold people accountable who have violated the law. I wanna come to determine to what extent have people in these positions stolen taxpayer dollars for their own benefit.We need to look at instituting a series of laws that will reduce corruption and increase ethical behaviors, going forward.
Community: Describe your stance on ICE and its role in immigration enforcement and detention.
Community: What role or responsibility do local and state governments have with regards to immigration enforcement?
Well, historically, immigration has been a federal issue, the federal government under the current administration has infiltrated state operations, including here in Indiana. Indiana should not be in the business of detention and concentration camps for individual individuals. We should shut down all detention centers immediately. Weill the state must comply with federal law, there needs to be a rethink on the role of the states in terms of how we treat people who are living and working in our state no matter their civil status. There is just a basic sense of human and constitutionalrights that each person should have.
