Healthcare is a right and should NOT be only available and accessible to the rich. If elected, a bill needs to immediately be drafted to change income requirements. Under no circumstances should $11 an hour be considered "too much income" to qualify for HIP (Medicaid). Also, redetermination should be immediately moved back to annually and NOT every 6 months.
Economics: AI and data centers are having a huge impact on jobs and communities across the nation, particularly in Indiana. What is Congress’s role in addressing this developing technology? What action will you take to hear and represent the concerns of Hoosiers on this topic?
Economics: Dozens of AI data centers are planning to come to Indiana, drawn by the state’s “business-friendly” reputation. How should Indiana manage these large industrial site proposals and their potential impact on communities? (Source: Citizens Action Coalition)
Data centers need to paid their share of property taxes, they must pay the 7% sales tax on their utilities- the same as every other Hoosier does, and should ONLY be allowed to utilize local labor. If Data centers are an evil necessity, those whose build them but be local so that the money spent on data centers stays in the community.
Education: Describe your stance on the Department of Education and its role in education administration, funding, and protections for students with disabilities.
Education: Since 2012, Indiana has spent over $5.5 billion in taxpayer dollars on charter schools and the private school voucher program. If elected, would you support or oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to funding private schools and charter schools? Why or why not? (Source: ICPE)
The voucher program should be ended immediately! Since 2008, the voucher program has destroyed public education and only hurts future Hoosiers. Our students are not where they should be academically, Teachers are leaving the field at a rapid pace, and rural schools are being forced to close their doors- leaving children with no school to attend locally.
Democracy: In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge or threat facing our democracy right now? If elected, what will you do to help overcome this challenge or threat?
The lack of respect for the constitution both US and the State and checks and balances. The fact that the people voted in to represent ALL Hoosiers are not held accountable for their actions is a big slap in the face to voters and democracy.
Community: Describe your stance on ICE and its role in immigration enforcement and detention.
Community: What role or responsibility do local and state governments have with regards to immigration enforcement?
Nothing unless an actual crime has been committed, but that falls under the jurisdiction of the local police and sheriff departments . ICE has no business here in Indiana.
