I will work to ensure that state taxes that are currently directed at corporate subsidies are directed towards healthcare and hospital funding.

[I] will propose a moratorium on data center construction until regulation, especially environmental regulation, can catch up to the current situation. Industry and jobs can help Hoosiers, but only if it is managed well. Allowing large corporations to loot our state is not how we help our people.
Education: Describe your stance on the Department of Education and its role in education administration, funding, and protections for students with disabilities.
Education: Since 2012, Indiana has spent over $5.5 billion in taxpayer dollars on charter schools and the private school voucher program. If elected, would you support or oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to funding private schools and charter schools? Why or why not? (Source: ICPE)
I will oppose the use of tax dollars for private schools and will work to abolish state funding for private or charter schools.
Democracy: In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge or threat facing our democracy right now? If elected, what will you do to help overcome this challenge or threat?
The biggest threat to our democracy is misinformation, followed shortly by fear of reprisal. I would like to make all information about state activities and funds easily accessible for all citizens, and I would like to education our law enforcement on deescalation and assistance rather than violence and punishment.
Community: Describe your stance on ICE and its role in immigration enforcement and detention.
Community: What role or responsibility do local and state governments have with regards to immigration enforcement?
The local and state governments would ideally have no role in immigration enforcement. Unfortunately in the current political climate, those governments should work against ICE and other immigration enforcement agencies to protect the people who live here. Even if they are not technically legally registered with the federal government, most immigrants are hard workers and tax payers who are only a boon for our communities.
